Finding Peace in the Present (Even When Life Feels Hard)
We’re often told to “stay present,” but what does that really mean when you’re in pain… exhausted… or caught in a storm of overthinking?
For me, being present isn’t about forcing myself to focus or saying affirmations until I feel calm.
It’s about recognising when I’m caught in my thinking and gently stepping back into the moment.
Even during cancer treatment, parenting struggles, and days when I’ve felt like a shell of myself… I’ve learned this:

Peace is always available when we come out of our heads and back into our lives.
And it doesn’t take effort, it takes awareness.
The Three Principles help us see that experience is created from the inside out.
When we’re caught in thought, we’re living in our head.
The Three Principles help us see that experience is created from the inside out.
When we’re caught in thought, we’re living in our head.
When we’re present, we’re living in the moment.
And in the moment, we’re always okay, even if our circumstances haven’t changed.
That’s what I’ve come to trust.
That I don’t need to fix everything first.
I just need to stop believing every thought that tells me I’m not okay.
Maybe you didn't realise that presence is your default as a human? You can think your way away form it but you will always come back to it when you just notice.
As crazy as it sounds having cancer has helped me see this even more, something that years ago I may have feared ever happening, has happened and I am OK!
When we stop trying to control what we can't and be in the moment, and just as we are in that moment, (not buying into should and shouldn't!), we feel different.
If you don't feel good in any way, it's because you are in your head, you will feel different when in your life instead, I promise and this is regardless of your external circumstances.
